Learning to embrace yourself and love yourself unconditionally definitely takes practice, so here are some basic steps to get you started towards loving yourself more deeply and fully.
Tell yourself you are truly loved: Each morning take about five minutes to stand in front of a mirror and lovingly look into your own eyes. Say to yourself, "I love and approve of myself. I am beautiful and wonderful exactly as I am. I am worthy and deserving of my own love. I love being me!"
End all destructive self-criticism: Stop analyzing, judging, and finding fault with yourself. Discard the old, repressive messages of long ago. Then, replace them with thoughts that speak only of your true grace and splendor. Use this affirmation bath daily: "I deserve my own praise, appreciation, and self-care. I am willing to commit to giving myself the love that I know that I am worth. I allow myself to be loved. I am responsible for my experience. I am choosing to love and approve of myself. I see myself with the eyes of love, and I am safe."
Praise yourself: Wow! Way to go! Super! I'm proud of myself! I'm outstanding! I'm important! I like myself! I'm doing great! I'm a winner! I belong! I matter! I count! Hip, hip hooray for ME!
Support yourself: Discover ways to support yourself. Reach out to others, and allow them to be there for you. You were never meant to walk this path alone. Asking for help is a demonstration of strength, not weakness.
Be gentle, kind, and patient with yourself. You are doing the best you can with all of your knowledge and experience at this time. That is always good enough.
