The knowledgeable and sensational Deanna L. Cloe joins Intuitive Living as the "Earth Angel Spotlight" this month with an outstanding guest post, Have Great Courage. I invite you to dive deeply into her words of wisdom! If you like what you read, please comment and share this post with your friends.

Do you think you were born with courage? Or are you like the cowardly lion in “The Wizard of Oz” and think you need to see the Wizard to get it? Courage is something we all have. No one, not even the wizard can bequeath it to us. We summon it, command it when we need it!

Here are a few things that I know takes GREAT COURAGE:
1.  It takes great courage to live a life true to yourself and not true of others. It’s much easier to live a life true for those loved ones around us. For example; My dad was a farmer and he always wanted me to take over the family farm, so that’s what I did. Or my mom wanted to be a nurse, but instead she raised us kids, so she pushed me to be a nurse. I never thought of doing anything I wanted to do or what I was good at. If you have this pattern of living a life that others want you to live, then what do you think will happen as you approach the end of your life? Do you believe you your life was full-filled and happy? Would you have regrets? I believe you probably would have all of the above. That’s why I say – it takes great courage to live a life true to yourself! If you learn this early on, you will have a true and happy life.

2.  It takes great courage to love openly and honestly. Most of us are afraid to be vulnerable and open to love because we have been hurt before. Yes, our hearts can be broken, but our hearts do mend over time. If you ask me, the true tragedy would have never to have loved! Because love is the greatest action and desire of our soul. I’m a romantic if you haven’t guessed. I will never give up on true love. I added the honesty because that is where the true intimacy comes in. The colors of love, the layers of spiritual connection, and the deep honesty will make your love last just as a true friendship never fades no matter how many years you may be apart. This is the only way to be and for a marriage to last a lifetime. The foundation is love, respect, and honesty. And quite frankly, that does take great courage. When you find that magic, it is worth all the heart break that came before it.

3.  It takes great courage say no. I believe it’s in our nature to want to please others by saying yes, but most of the time it hurts us more by agreeing to something we truly want to say no to. Our intuition tells us to say no, but out of our kindness we don’t say no. I’ve been shown this lesson time and time again. I finally get it. It’s okay to politely say no. I sincerely say “No, I’m sorry I can’t.” I don’t even give an explanation as to why either. There really is no need and in most cases, people don’t ask for one. Be strong and say no if your intuition tells you to. Don’t explain. Don’t feel guilty. Move on. It’s for your greater good. The true gift - it leaves room for things you want to do.

4. It takes great courage to make change happen. I hear people every week tell me they don’t like their job. They are stuck in a rut and can’t see a way out. They are very unhappy. I could tell them all the positive things about them, what skills/strengths they have, or even write their resume for them, but if they don’t see all those great things about themselves, then they won’t even make a step towards changing anything. People will stay unhappy rather than make a change. Don’t you think that’s a shame? To stay unhappy in a job because you’re afraid to change? Don’t be afraid of change if there is a possibility of being happy!!!! To me that’s a "no-brainer". Take steps to make the change happen. Small steps if that’s what it takes, but take steps. Happiness is the goal. Don’t let fear stop you from anything.

I share these acts of great courage with you because I have gained great insights within the past two years. Life is short, and we aren’t guaranteed tomorrow. My life was almost taken in an instant. My life was change. My perspective of fear – of living was changed. At the end of my life, I don’t want to have any regrets of living a full, happy, courageous life. Be true. Live Life Like Its Yours!
